Fuji Fire Festival

The pleasant town of Yoshida, located in Fuji Five Lakes area, proudly hosts the annual Fuji Fire Festival, which marks the end of Mt. Fuji's two-month climbing season. The festivities begin at Sengen Shrine, where locals perform traditional fire dances and light giant "taimatsu" (cone shaped towers) that burn throughout the area. Shortly after lighting them, the streets are ablaze and the temperature rises! Many booths selling souvenirs, food, and drinks are set up throughout the festival area.
