Oze Overnight Trekking

#
Note: This event has already passed.

One of the "must-go" destinations for hikers. Oze is known as the paradise of beautiful flowers. An area of 8,690ha (106 times wider than Tokyo Disneyland!), which is designated as a National Park and also registered Ramsar site, is covered with more than 300 different kinds of plants during the hiking season. This massive area stretches over three prefectures (Gunma, Nigata, Fukushima) and its scenic beauty which includes marshes, ponds, ravines, forests, and mountains delights visitors. We are going to enter through Hatomochi Pass, which is the closest entrance from Tokyo, and enjoy 2 days of hiking. Approximately 3 hours of hiking on the 1st day, stay and relax at the mountain hut, then 6 hours of fun hiking on the 2nd day! This time of year is a peak season for the "Koyo (foliage changing to red, yellow, and orange in the fall)". Oze is a rare place where you can witness the Koyo of grass. At the end of Koyo season, Oze starts to cover up with snow and closes until the following spring. To conserve the nature, you cannot use shampoo, rinse/conditioner, soap/face wash, toothpaste/mouthwash and detergent in the Oze area.
