Note: This event has already passed.

Depart: 4:00 a.m. / Return: 5 p.m.

First, we will moderately ascend for 20 minutes and hike through Shirakoma’s courtyard, a Japanese garden created by an abundance of natural greeneries. 10 minutes from the area is Shirakoma Pond where a thick green carpet is formed by 485 kinds of moss. The area is designated as the National Bryophyte Heritage Site in Japan. Walk around the pond clockwise for 20 minutes, then walk about 30 minutes until reaching the rocky peaks of Takami-iwa. Carefully climb through huge rocks for the beautiful scenic view overlooking the forest and the Shirakoma Pond. Turn back 20 minutes to Shirakoma pond and another 20-minute walk to our final destination, Shirakoma pond parking lot. Enjoy not only the beautiful scenery, but also a variety of delicious foods served at mountain huts. >>>Approximately 5km/3.1mi, 2.5 hours hiking, Max elevation 172m/564ft.
