Where is Fujino?

Fujino is a charming area in Sagamihara City, located about 20 km northwest of Camp Zama. Known as a place where nature and creativity meet, it is home to many artists and offers hands-on craft experiences in a peaceful countryside setting.

Wheel-Thrown Pottery Making in Tokyo

Tuesday, August 12th • 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Meet at Community Club main entrance at 10:15 a.m.

No Cost to Arts and Crafts Patrons
Includes bus round-trip transportation, instruction, and materials. (Lunch not included)

*Maximum of 14 participants
*Open to participants 6 & older, Youths under 18 years old are required to be with legal guardian.

You will make two small items on the wheel. Example: Teacup, beer mug, flower vase and etc. The local artists will fire and glaze them for you. You will receive your complete items in about a month.

Kintsugi Pottery Fix with Gold Glue in Tokyo

What is Kintsugi?

Kintsugi is the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer and gold, embracing flaws as part of the object’s history and beauty. In this class, we’ll explore the spirit of Kintsugi using “Golden Glue,” a beginner-friendly method inspired by the original technique.
