Note: This event has already passed.

Ohi river is running at the center of Shizuoka Prefecture. It used to be one of the most difficult points to go through on the Old Tokaido, which was the main road connecting Tokyo and Kyoto in Edo era. First, we will walk on the path in the tea plantation for 20 minutes. then we will get to the Old Tokaido Kanaya Slope. 430m stone pavement was restored on the slope by citizen in 1991. Go down the slope, go under the railroads, walk along small waterway for 1.7km (1mi), we will arrive at Shin Kanaya terminal station on Oigawa Line. You might be able to see steam locomotive go out/ pull into the station if the tour is proceed as planned. Take a break at the station area, then cross 1km Ohigawa bridge. In the Edo era, bridge-construction and boat transportation are strictly prohibited by Tokugawa Shogunate. Guess how people cross Ohi river in the ancient period. After crossing Ohi River, we will enter Green Park to stroll along the river. Our goal will be Horai bridge, the longest wooden bridge in the world! Cross 897.4m pedestrian bridge.
