Sagamihara (SHA) CDC (Child Development Center) are National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited programs. CDCs are quality age-appropriate environments that prepare your child to master life skills through hands on developmentally appropriate program activities and learning environments. Educational activities and programs are available for children ages 6 weeks through 6 years old (kindergarten). Programs are designed to promote a positive self image, develop fine and large muscle coordination, increase verbal communication, expand creative ideas, build self help skills and problem solving techniques, and to teach educational learning concepts through situational learning experiences and play.

The Strong Beginnings Program runs concurrent with the Arnn Elementary Calendar. Children must be four (4) years of age and reach the age of 5 by September to participate. This program does not operate during the summer months.
The SHA CDC is located in building S-107. Hourly care reservations may be made at DSN 267-6273. Hourly care must be paid in advance at the CYSS Parent Central Services office prior to service being provided.
