MWR Airport Van Transportation, Sagami-Ono Transfer & Bus Rental Service

MWR offers two convenient options for customers traveling to the airports. Both services available by reservation only.

  1. MWR Airport Van Transportation Service
  2. MWR Sagami-Ono Transfer Service

1. MWR Airport Van Transportation Service

MWR Airport Van Transportation Service offers flexibility with pickup time and location, allowing you to schedule your airport transport at your convenience.

Please fill out the request form and MUST BE submitted at least two weeks prior to the reservation date either in person or via email, Leisure Travel Services staff will notify the requester if the service is available.  

Due to limited drivers and vehicles, the service is NOT guaranteed.

2. MWR Sagami-Ono Transfer Service

MWR Sagami-Ono Transfer Service provides transfer services to Sagami-Ono Station from following locations for customers taking the airport bus. 

Please call or visit Outdoor Recreation Center to make reservation. You will need to provide :

  • Your name
  • Number of travelers
  • Phone number
  • Departure time (from Sagami-Ono)

Reservation MUST be made at least 3 days in advance.

Please allow for a 30-minute window to travel to Sagami-Ono due to traffic variations. If you need a return shuttle, reserve it at the same time.

Eligibility

MWR Airport Van Transportation Services and Sagami-Ono Transfer Service are available for all Active Duty, DOD Civilians, and dependents, JGSDF members, Local National employees who has gate ID accessing Camp Zama.

VEHICLE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE AGREEMENT

The full fee for service between Narita/Haneda/Yokota/Sagami-Ono and Zama/SHA/Yokota/ Sagami-Ono must be paid once reservation is confirmed.

  • All cancellations and changes must be made at least 96 hours prior to the scheduled date to receive a full refund. Any cancellations made after 96 hours will not receive a refund.
  • Changes to upcoming weekend vehicle transportation reservations must be made prior to Friday at 3 p.m.. - Alcohol and smoking are prohibited in the vehicles at all times, no exceptions!
  • Due to the heavy traffic conditions, vehicle transportation service driver may not arrive at the time designated on the request. 
  • If the driver does not arrive at the designated area within 30 minutes after the requested time, please contact our office at: DSN 263-3621 or 046-407-3621
Payment Information
  • Prepayment is required for Confirmation of Reservation. We accept VISA and Mastercard over the phone or by e-mail or in person at the Community Recreation Center.
  • No refunds will be provided to non-arrivals who fail to properly communicate to the reservation agent.
Other Information
  • Passengers will handle their own personal bags and belongings during pick-up / drop-off.
  • IAW Local Law and Army Regulation states that children are required to be in a child safety restraint. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide the safety restraint.
  • If your flight is delayed or cancelled and you are unable to contact us prior to departure, please bring flight documentation and your Transportation request form  for a refund/date change within one week.
  • If your flight is delayed or cancelled causing you to miss the van, please notify us beforehand and we will be happy to refund you.
  • The van service runs 365 days a year; schedules are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Please check the United States Army Garrison Japan and Camp Zama MWR Facebook page for any updates during inclement weather.

Bus Company's Guidelines

Items Not Accepted for Storage

Please carry the following items with you inside the bus: cash, valuables, expensive items (e.g., jewelry, artwork), and fragile items (e.g., glassware, cameras, laptops).

Carry-on Baggage Restrictions

  • Weight: Up to 10kg
  • Volume: Up to 0.027m2
  • Length: Up to 1m

Trunk Room Usage

  • Each passenger may check up to two suitcases.
  • Additional baggage should be sent via a delivery service.
  • Extra baggage may be accepted depending on availability—please check with the bus driver on the day of travel. We are not responsible for damage, loss, or theft of stored baggage.
  • Haneda Airport Line: Self-service loading and unloading.
  • Use name tags or other identifiers to avoid mix-ups when retrieving baggage.

Other Notices

  • Smoking is prohibited inside the bus.
  • Please refrain from using mobile phones inside the bus.
  • Seat belts must be worn at all times, including in rear seats.

From Sagami-ono to Narita or Haneda Airport

The airport bus from Sagami-Ono Station is operated by Kanagawa Chuo Kotsu (Kanachu Bus) and Keihin Kyuko Bus (Keikyu Bus). Since the MWR van drops passengers off near the North Exit of Sagami-Ono Station, please reserve a seat for boarding at the Sagami-Ono Station (North Exit) when making your reservation.

Reservations & Payments

  1. Reservation at Kanachu Bus Sagami-Ono Service Center: Fill out the reservation form (phone reservations are not accepted). Reservations are available from one month prior to the day before departure. Payment is made on the day of the trip , and no cancellation notice is required.
  2. On the Day of Travel: A staff member will be present at the bus stop for payments. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. Online Reservation: If you have a credit card issued in Japan, you can make a reservation from https://secure.j-bus.co.jp/hon. This website is only available in Japanese.

* Payments by cash or PASMO/SUICA are recommended, as some buses may not accept card payments.

From Airport to Camp Zama

Purchasing a Bus Ticket 

Option 1: Buy at the bus ticket counter (6 a.m.-11p.m.). Purchase a ticket for Sagami-Ono Station.

Option 2: Use a ticket vending machine. There are orange and green machines—use the green one. (How to use ticket vending machine)

Boarding the Bus

After purchasing your ticket, proceed to Bus Stop #9 and board the bus bound for Machida Bus Center.


1b. Haneda Airport Terminal 2 to Sagami-ono Station (by Bus)

Purchasing a Bus Ticket

Option 2: Use a ticket vending machine. There are blue (A) and orange (B) machines—use the blue one (A).  (How to use ticket vending machine)

Boarding the Bus

After purchasing your ticket, proceed to Bus Stop #9 and board the bus bound for Machida Bus Center.


2. Sagami-ono to Sobudai-mae Station (By Train)

After getting off at Bus Stop #6, take the elevator or stairs to the deck and head towards the Central Gate. If you prefer to take a taxi, use the taxi stand at the Bus Terminal.

Purchase a ticket to Sobudai-mae Station for ¥170 at the ticket vending machine. Then, go down to the Platform 1 and 2 area and board the train from Platform 2. Since express trains DO NOT stop at Sobudai-mae Station, make sure to take a local train.


3. Sobudai-mae Station to Camp Zama (Walk)

4. Camp Zama Main Gate & Gate #4 to Army Lodging
